The Therapy
 Transpessoal

Transpersonal is characterized by being an experience that, according to Walsh and Vaughan, can be defined as “one in which the sense of identity or self goes beyond (trans + passing = going beyond) the individual and the personal in order to encompass aspects of humanity, of life, of the psyche and of the cosmos” (Walsh; Vaughan, 1997, p. 17).
Transpersonal Psychology can be understood as psychological studies and practices of these experiences in health, education, organizations, institutions, including not only their nature, varieties, causes and effects, their development, as well as their manifestation in philosophy, art, culture, education. , and religions.

An approach that brings together psychological and spiritual principles in the process of healing and growth. Psychotherapeutic work focuses more on what went wrong: how we are hurt in our relationships with others and how to deal with it. Spiritual work focuses more on what is intrinsically right: that we have infinite resources at the heart of our nature that we can cultivate in order to live more fully. If psychological work thins the clouds, spiritual work invokes space. Bringing these two perspectives together we have a psychospiritual approach to transforming heartache.

Working on these two levels – dealing with your psychological hurt and learning to access great love – will help you to relate to yourself, to others and to all aspects of life, with a more generous, more open heart. You will discover that your hurt is not a flaw or a defect, but a compass that can lead you to better bonds with people.

Holotropic Breathing

Holotropic Breathwork is an experiential approach to therapy and self-knowledge, created by Stanislav Grof and Christina Grof. One of the most powerful and effective techniques in transpersonal psychology, Holotropic Breathwork uses the healing and transformation potential of expanded states of consciousness in a safe and welcoming environment. In these states, participants experience a rich variety of experiences, which provide access to the roots of emotional and psychosomatic disorders. In addition to emotional and physical improvement, the beneficial effects of repeated sessions can lead to positive changes in personality, way of seeing the world and in the hierarchy of values. “Holotropic” means “moving towards wholeness” and suggests both a movement of reintegration of fragmented parts of oneself, and of reconnection with a greater dimension.

In its theory and practice, Holotropic Breathwork combines and integrates diverse elements of depth psychology, modern consciousness research, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual philosophies, and indigenous healing practices. It differs greatly from traditional forms of psychotherapy that essentially use verbal means, such as psychoanalysis and other schools of depth psychology that originated from it. It shares certain characteristics with the experiential therapies of humanistic psychology, such as Gestalt therapy and neo-Reichian approaches, which also emphasize direct emotional expression and body work. However, Holotropic Breathwork stands out from these approaches by utilizing the intrinsic healing potential of unusual states of consciousness.

A therapy that greatly deepens the therapeutic process through breathing, bodywork, evocative music, and artistic plastic expression, aiming integrate the experiences of the deep unconscious, biographical and perinatal (birth/childbirth), e that often reaches into the spiritual or transpersonal realms of the human psyche. A transformative therapy.
